I have taken a lot of writing classes online and have read a LOT of books on craft. Despite all of the information that I have been gathering on my own over the years, I felt like I was missing something.
I decided to try an in-person writing class.
In Nashville, we have the lovely Watkins College of Art, Design, and Film. They have a variety of art classes that are open to the community.
Over the summer, I took the two classes below.
The instructor was phenomenal. She gave us writing assignments in class, and we were invited to share them. Sharing was a “not have to” situation. In both classes, we all shared each time. It was fun to watch people react to your writing.
I gained so much from these classes, and I highly recommend that you take them if you are in Nashville and able to attend.
The instructor is Gloria Ballard writes for the Tennessean in the travel and gardening sections. She has excellent reading taste, is experienced writer, a kind teacher, and a lot of fun to be around.
If you click on the info anywhere, you will be magically taken away to the Watkins website where you can register.
