The Short of It
While I’m not against people using AI to generate books, I will not be doing it.
The Long of It
This isn’t an essay on how AI flooded the market, either.
The market was flooded, to begin with, so I’m not going to say that AI-generated books are ruining publishing because print-on-demand publishing “ruined” it a few years ago.
By opening the world of publishing to independent writers, the book market immediately became saturated with amateur authors (like myself). Traditional publishing wasn’t pleased until it realized it could benefit from social media famous writers and/or wildly talented unknowns.
AI is the just newest disrupter in the industry. That’s it.
So, What Are You Saying, Burgess?
Simply put, I’m not mad at AI-generated text. I’m just not generating AI content for publication or income.
I will not generate posts, articles, or books with AI. I will continue to use Grammarly to check my spelling. I will ask ChatGPT things much like I would ask Google. But, I will not generate text on this site with AI. I feel like it would defeat the purpose of this whole thing.
