My Simple Bullet Journal Setup
I know, I know. We’re all sick of hearing about bullet journaling. But, here’s the thing - it works.
Bullet journaling is so ubiquitous, because it is so customizable and useful. Anyone can create a bullet journal system that works specifically for them.
My Setup
My bullet journal has gone through some serious evolutions over the years. What you see in the picture above is a stripped down version of how it all started.
I’ve removed all habit trackers, decorative elements, and color coding. This, for me, is the cleanest and easiest bullet journal set up for me.
At the beginning of each month, I create a Monthly Calendar. At the top of the page, I put the numeric representation of the month and year. Then, I list the dates leaving a line for me to add any reminders for that day.
At the bottom of my monthly page, I put a Notes section for miscellaneous stuff. 9 times out of 10, I do not use this section.
On the left page, you can see how I use my bullet journal to take notes, record gratitude, and list out what I want and need to do for the day.
That’s literally it. No collection pages. No habit trackers. Nothing. Everything else is represented by an icon (which I’ll share what those are next time).
This setup is pressure free, and I don’t have to worry about it being beautiful. It’s a series of lists which keeps the whole notebook looking clean.
