Hello friends,
As I write this, I am drinking my second cup of coffee of the morning, and the weather is changing from chilly to toasty warm.
As some of you may know, I have a day job in addition to the writing classes, book writing, etc. Last week, I worked a little overtime so a coworker could take their birthday off - hence the lack of newsletter last week.
I am just wrapping up two glorious days off in which I watched some episodes of Longmire, did a little pet-sitting, and did some free writing.
📖 Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice - It’s the most wonderful time of the year - Spooky season! While I’m not one for the newer horror movies and books, I am here for the classics. Anne Rice is my go-to vampire writer, and I have been reading Interview with a Vampire this week. I fell in love with this book in high school, and it is an entirely different read in my 40s. If you’ve never read it, you most certainly should. While she did write a series on the vampires, you can certainly read this as a stand-alone novel.
📺 Sherlock Holmes BBC - Another one of my favorite things in which to indulge this time of year is Sherlock Holmes. I am a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. I find autumn and winter to be the perfect time to revisit the books and the wonderful BBC series starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
I would love to know if you’ve read or watched either of these, so please feel free to comment.
Until next week, take care of you, and Happy Hunting.
B.A. Burgess
