No. 19
Hello friends,
I am currently sitting at my desk, drinking coffee, and looking out the window. I see a very plump red-breasted robin outside, and she is quite cute.
This week has been a thought-provoking one for me. I've been thinking about Newton’s third law, which states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Specifically, I’ve been thinking about how it applies to moral human energy as opposed to physical energy.
In particular, I've been reflecting on my own behavior. Recently, I was feeling overly confident in a certain area of my life. However, my confidence turned into arrogance, which was not acceptable. Then, as if the Universe was trying to teach me a lesson, something happened that completely humbled me.
This experience reminded me that it's important to be confident, but we should never become arrogant. I am sharing this with you to let you know that if you're experiencing similar struggles, you're not alone. We're all only human, and we make mistakes.
We are never too old to learn a lesson.
Now, enjoy this short List of Interesting Things -
📝A List of Interesting Things
🏹 Endure by Cameron Hanes - I am not a bow hunter. I am not an ultramarathon runner. But I am interested in people that are excellent at what they do. Cameron Hanes is excellent at both bow hunting and ultramarathon running.
If you listen to the Joe Rogan podcast, you probably already know who Cameron Hanes is. He is a fascinating person that does not seem to have physical limitations at all. I highly recommend this book if you are interested in human excellence.
🎧 Keep Hammering Collective with Cam Hanes - Of course after I finished reading Cameron Hanes’s book, I found out he had a podcast! I love the episode with Courtney Dauwalter, who is also an ultramarathon runner. I would argue she is the best ultramarathon runner in the world.
Again, I don't run ultramarathons, but I'm so interested in people that are excellent at the thing that they do, and Courtney is just amazing. Check out the podcast. Tell me what you think!
🎥 Running a Marathon in a Luxury Hotel - Beau Miles. I am in YouTube love with Beau Miles. If you don’t know who he is, you should.
He is a documentary film maker and professor who does interesting challenges and experiments.
In his latest video, which is the last in his series “12 Days of New Things” series, he runs a marathon…in a hotel.
