Hello friends,
On Saturday, I went for an early morning hike on the Cumberland River. I unfolded my Oru (←Affiliate link for OruKayak.com. Thanks in advance!), lovingly wrapped my pack in a garbage bag, and launched into the water right as it started sprinkling.
I hadn't gone kayaking alone in a while. It felt nice to be on the calm water watching the fish jumping and the cave sparrows feeding on insects.

Now, here’s a list of somewhat exciting things:
📝A List of Interesting Things
💻The Elysian - I’ve recently been exploring future utopias. My curiosity for the concept is entirely related to Elle Griffin’s newsletter, the Elysian. She writes glorious, long-form content about capitalism, future utopias, and so much more. I can’t recommend it enough.
📖The Backyard Adventurer by Beau Miles - I have a handful of books that I read over and over again, and this is one of those books.
Beau Miles has, what I believe to be, the best YouTube Channel out there. He is a philosopher, outdoor educator, and storyteller. This book recounts several of his adventures turned documentaries, including my favorite one, The Human Bean, wherein he eats his body weight in beans.
The great thing about this book is that it isn’t out to prove that Beau is an adventurer in a class outside of his neighbors. It reminds us that we are living very adventurous lives. We need only take notice.
