Hello friends,
I remember something I overheard my mom say about this time every year. I don’t remember exactly how old I was, but I was definitely a teenager. I looked out the screen door, past the yard, across the road, and into the trees. I heard her say, “I missed the leaves changing. I looked up one day, and they were gone. I’ll never do that again.”
I noticed a fire-red maple in a parking lot a few days ago. I looked around and noticed some still-green leaves with bright yellow edges. Today, I noticed more orange, red, and brown.
I wasn’t looking for it, and I could have missed it. It was a lovely surprise.
Let’s not miss the leaves changing, friends.
