Small Victories
There are four actions that I have been attempting to solidify and make simply a part of my lifestyle instead of a chore or item on a to-do list. Those actions are exercising, meditation, writing, and playing the ukulele.
I’ve been exercising daily for a minimum of 10 minutes for 137 days as of today (🎉Woo hoo). As for the meditation, writing, and ukulele practice - Well, they aren’t part of my everyday life yet.
While I do study and contemplate meditation and philosophy daily, I’ve lost my seated meditation practice.
Writing is on my mind all of the time, but I work a day job that sits me in front of a computer for eight hours at a time. This leaves me cramming writing into my weekends.
There was a time in my life where I played ukulele daily. That was years ago. I can still pull some songs out of my hat when need be, but I want to play well - not just good enough.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram, then you know I seriously sprained my ankle a couple of weeks ago. It is uncomfortable, to say the least. I’m in a boot, and am taking more ibuprofen than I ever have in my life.
Since I cannot go hiking at the moment, and most of the household chores like laundry and grocery shopping have been taken over by my partner, I was left in a house alone today for a few hours with nothing to do, but check things off my personal to-do list.
So today, I marked all four actions as complete thus beginning three new streaks (🤞), and continuing another.
