Write For Yourself First
When it comes to writing, it's important to remember to write for yourself first and foremost.
Don't worry about what others might think or how they might judge your work. Just put your thoughts down on paper (or screen) and let the words flow.
If you don't enjoy it, no one else will either. So find what makes you happy and run with it. When you're satisfied with what you've written, then go back and edit it to make it the best that it can be.
When it is ready, release it to the world by blog, post, or publication. Once it is released, it is no longer yours. It belongs to the readers.
Not everyone will like your work, but that’s okay. Works of a creative nature cannot please everyone.
Reviews and criticisms are not for you. These are ways for consumers of your work to communicate with each other about their experiences.
Read them. Don’t read them. It is up to you.
Your job was finished when you decided you were satisfied enough with your piece to give it to the world.
Write for yourself first. Enjoy the process. Release your work to the world. Begin again, because you are a writer.
